Generate PR was founded in November 2009 by Fran Walker. Fran began studying at Central Saint Martins School of Art, studying Fashion Curation before realising PR was her passion after having work experience at Red Hot PR on Edgeware Road London, working with brands such as Suzy Smith, Sera of London and Spec Station, Fran was in her element meeting up with journalists, securing and sorting press clippings and visiting trade shows and press days.
Fran soon decided to transfer courses and went on to study PR at the London College of Communication without repeating the first year. During her time at LCC, Fran made lots of contacts and enjoyed brainstorming with like-minded people.
For her Uni dissertation based on the the PR and Media circus surrounding the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, Fran managed to secure one to one interviews off her own back with the Marketing Manager of Charity Missing People: Paul Tuhoy, and PR Guru Max Clifford who was so impressed with Fran's interview conduct that he offered Fran work experience at Max Clifford Associates.
After graduating LCC with a 2:1 BA Honors in PR, Fran began to work for Quite Gr8 PR in Little Sheldon, Cambridge, which specialised in the promotion and PR of Music artists such as Rod Stewart and Jamie Cullum. When Fran arrived, Quite Gr8 had just began to set up their consumer division side, securing press for all genres of consumer brands which Fran volunteered to help with. Fran soon earned her rightful nickname as the Product Placement Queen by her colleagues and boss, because of her knack and speed of securing quality and consistent national press editorial placements for lots of different types of consumer brands such as Punky Alssorts, Glamour Kills, Cozie Warmers, Coles Puddings and Munchy Seeds.
Fran was soon working on 20 different clients on her own within the company and thoroughly enjoyed her challenging role. After a year, Fran did some soul searching and realised she could set up on her own. As a welcome surprise, a few of the clients she worked on at Quite Gr8 PR came with her.
Fran soon established Generate PR in November 2009, and now works from her busy office in Peterborough, Cambs.
